Southend Hospital Radio Programmes

From Dave Gold, our Programme Controller:

 

All large hospitals can be a little bewildering to newcomers and Southend Hospital is no different! As well as the dedicated teams of doctors and nurses that take care of patients, our team is working behind the scenes with the sole ambition of making each patient's stay as pleasant as possible.

 

Southend Hospital Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, either live or via our continuous play-out system, on Premier Bedside channels 8 and 9 or on the older system channels 13 and 14.

 

The Request Show: The programme we are most proud of is the request show which is broadcast on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings between 8pm and 10pm. This programme is made up of music that you, the listener, has requested via our request collectors when they visit the wards and then broadcast the same evening. Missed our collectors? Never fear, you can call the studio on 4500 Premier Bedside (which is a freephone number) or 01702 338181 and make your request - your requests are very important to us. This is your show, playing the music chosen by you!

 

We are also proud of our various music programmes, which we think cater for all tastes. Our programming also covers all Southend United first team home games direct from Roots Hall with live commentary from our sports team, John and David and incorporates a sports programme from the studio.
